System of measurement and recording of touch-down parameters type AVI+

System AVI+ of measurement and recording of the touch-down process, elaborated by Adaptronica Sp. z o.o., performs the measurement of vertical speed of an aircraft and its distance from runway during touch-down. The system enables the user to assess the energy of the landing process, which allows for proper selection of load control parameters in adaptive landing gears.

AVI+ can be applied on ultralight and light aircrafts. In particular, the system AVI+ can be used with a piezoelectric valve and pneumatic shock absorber in order to mitigate impact loads during landing.

The advantages of the AVI+ system are the following:
  • possibility to assess the energy of landing as the fundamental factor influencing stress performance of the landing gear during touch-down,
  • continuous streaming of input data to the controller of the adaptive landing gear,
  • better evaluation of structural fatigue due to repetitive loads,
  • prolongation of lifetime of the adaptive landing gear,
  • possibility of assessment of aircraft failures,
  • application of waterproof ultrasonic heads of targeted directional range.
The measurement of vertical speed of the aircraft and its distance from runway is based on the echolocation rule utilized in radars and sonars. Transmitting-receiving ultrasonic heads as well as targeted aquisition and signal analysis are applied. The transmitting-receiving heads, operating in the range of ca. 40 kHz, allows for improving the ratio of the analyzed signal to noise level generated by the aircraft in flight.

The application of the AVI+ system on a specified airplane requires user-producer interaction. We look forward to cooperation
